Roman Lorica Segmenta Armor - 1st Century A.D. Lorica Segmenta" loosely translates from Latin as segmented or pieced breast-plate.
This type of armor was worn by the Praetorians, the elite guard of the Roman army.
It may have found its way into the Roman army from the gladiatorial arena.
The first time the Romans came into contact with this armor may have been during the
revolt of Florus and Sacrovir in (A.D.21) when the heavily armored gladiators, called
Crupellarii, fought against legionnaires. Approximately 20 inches
from the neck to bottom and will fit up to a 53 inch waist.

Breast & Back Armor -
This armor breastplate is made of hand-forged 16
gauge, low carbon steel. This metallurgical composition
provides excellent resilience and durability.
The straps are made of sturdy leather. The buckles are 18 gauge steel
and adjustable for a comfortable fit. The entire strap is riveted to
the plate metal of the cuirass. This is a solid piece of armor that
won't come apart while you're wearing it. Due to the handmade nature
of this item, no two examples are exactly alike. It's truly a unique,
collectible piece.
Approximately 18 inches from the neck to bottom and
will fit up to a 50 inch waist.
This item is shipped to you pre-oiled for protection.

Youth Breast Plate -
(Front Breast Plate Only) This armor breastplate is made of hand-forged 16
gauge, low carbon steel. This metallurgical composition
provides excellent resilience and durability.

| CHAINMAIL ARMOR:
Each incredible chainmail shirt (hauberk) and hood (coif) is
painstakingly and skillfully created. Our craftsman use the most popular European style called
4 into 1. Each circular link intersects with four others to form
a continuous blanket of ring protection, like the originals.
BUTTED CHAINMAIL COIFS AND HAUBERKS: The butted chainmail rings
are made by closing the ends of each individual ring and pushing them
close together. Put on your chainmail Hauberk and Coif and head
off to the next renaissance fair! TIPS ON WEARING YOUR NEW
CHAINMAIL:
In case you weren't aware, chain mail does not stretch. You cannot put
it on one arm at a time like a fabric shirt. Instead lay the chain
mail flat on the ground, bed, or something similar. Bend over and
thrust both arms into the bottom of the shirt. Work your hands through to
the end of the sleeves and then begin to stand-up. Get your head
through the neck hole and let the chain mail slide down your body. If
you have long hair, make sure to tie up your hair before you wear the chain
mail, otherwise it could get tangled in your hair. You might feel a
bit claustrophobic when first wearing the chain mail... but don't worry you
won't get stuck. PLEASE wear a shirt or some other garment underneath
the chain mail, the edges of the rings where they are joined together are a
bit rough and can scratch you. |
