The Ryumon Shogun Katana has a hand forged and folded AISI 1060 carbon steel blade meticulously crafted. Heat treated with traditional processes to produce an extremely sharp ha (edge). A one piece brass habaki (blade collar) enables the blade to fit securely into the saya (scabbard). The blackened tsuba (guard) and the kashira (buttcap) of this sword bear the Tokugawa Shogunate kamon (family crest). Authentic ray skin is used to wrap the tsuka (handle) and then tied with Japanese cotton. We offer this katana with either a mahogany wood saya or a palisander wood saya with Japanese cotton sageo wrap.
Each sword comes complete with a cotton sword bag.
