863 Manganese Bronze

Overview

Manganese Bronze 863 is a high strength bronze or high tensile brass (HTB3). It is an exceptionally strong material that has higher hardness and strength ratings than even 304/316 stainless steel. 863 also has good wearing properties and good ductility, making it suitable for extra heavy-duty slow speed bearings and for hydraulic cylinder components. Good lubrication is required for components made from 863. This material has reasonable corrosion resistance, but de-zincification can occur under certain conditions.
