1. About This Policy

1.1 This policy explains how Kormax collects, uses, shares and protects personal information. Kormax, we, us and our mean Kormax Limited (New Zealand), Kormax Pty. Limited (Australia) and Kormax, LLC (United States).

1.2 It applies to personal information we collect through kormax.com and its subdomains, and in the course of our business: from customers, people who send enquiries, newsletter subscribers, suppliers and people at businesses we may contact about our products and services.

1.3 We handle personal information in line with the Privacy Act 2020 (New Zealand), the Privacy Act 1988 and the Australian Privacy Principles (Australia), and the privacy laws of the US states that apply to us.

2. What We Collect

2.1 Information you give us. When you request a quote, download a catalogue, ask to speak to an expert, subscribe to our newsletter or contact us, we collect the details you provide. Depending on the form, this includes your name, company, position, email address, phone number, country and state, your message, and any drawings, models or specifications you upload. If you are a customer, we also hold the business contact, delivery and invoicing details needed to supply you.

2.2 Information collected automatically. When you visit the website, we and our service providers collect your IP address, device and browser type, approximate location, the pages you view, the site that referred you, the time and length of your visit, and how you interact with pages, including clicks, scrolling and session recordings. Much of this is collected using cookies and similar technologies (clause 6).

2.3 Information from other sources. We use business-identification services that match a visitor’s IP address to the organisation it belongs to. These services, and our CRM, may also provide business contact details for people at that organisation, such as name, job title, business email and phone number. We may also collect business contact details from publicly available business sources and from people who refer you to us.

2.4 If we collect your details from another source and then contact you, we will tell you how we obtained them when we first get in touch.

2.5 We do not ask for sensitive information, such as health or financial account details, and the website does not collect payment card details.

3. How We Use It

3.1 We use personal information to:

(a) respond to enquiries and prepare quotations;

(b) manufacture, inspect, supply and deliver orders, and manage customer accounts;

(d) identify businesses that visit the website and contact people at those businesses about products and services relevant to them;

(e) understand how the website is used and improve it;

(f) measure and target our advertising, including showing our ads to people who have visited the website;

(g) keep our systems secure; and

(h) meet our legal, tax and regulatory obligations.

3.2 We use tools that score and prioritise business enquiries and website visits. These help our team decide which businesses to contact. We do not make decisions that have a legal or similarly significant effect on individuals by automated means alone.

4. Who We Share It With

4.1 We do not sell personal information. We share it only as described below.

4.2 Kormax companies. Kormax Limited, Kormax Pty. Limited and Kormax, LLC share information with each other to handle enquiries and supply customers in each market.

4.3 Service providers. We use the following providers to run our website, CRM, email and advertising. Each processes personal information on our behalf or under its own privacy terms. We also use productivity and artificial intelligence tools to help analyse enquiries and website activity and to prepare internal reports.

4.4 Our foundry network and manufacturing providers. To prepare quotations and fulfil orders, we share drawings, specifications and the related contact details with members of our foundry network and with machining, inspection, testing, freight and customs providers, only as needed and subject to obligations of confidentiality.

4.5 Others. We may share information with our professional advisers; with courts, regulators or law enforcement where the law requires it; and with a buyer of all or part of our business, under the same protections.

5. Information Sent Overseas

5.1 Kormax operates in New Zealand, Australia and the United States, and personal information may be shared between our companies in those countries.

5.2 Several of our service providers store information in the United States and other countries where they operate. Members of our foundry network may be located outside New Zealand, Australia and the United States.

5.3 When we send personal information overseas, we take reasonable steps to make sure it is protected in a way that is comparable to New Zealand and Australian privacy law, including through confidentiality obligations and by choosing providers with recognised security practices.

6. Cookies and Tracking

6.1 The website uses cookies and similar technologies for four purposes: necessary (to make the site work), preferences, statistics (analytics), and marketing (advertising and business identification).

6.2 When you first visit, a banner explains our use of cookies. If you continue to use the website, we treat that as your consent. You can change or withdraw your consent at any time through the cookie settings, and see the full, current list of cookies on our Cookies Information page.

6.3 You can also block cookies in your browser settings, opt out of Google Analytics with Google’s browser add-on, and manage ad personalisation in your Google and Microsoft account settings. Blocking cookies may affect how the website works.

7. Marketing Emails

7.1 We send our newsletter to people who subscribe, and may send other marketing emails to business contacts where the law allows.

7.2 Every marketing email includes an unsubscribe link. You can also unsubscribe by contacting us (clause 13). We will stop sending marketing emails promptly, but may still contact you about quotes and orders.

8. Security

8.1 We protect personal information with reasonable safeguards, including access controls, password-protected systems and encryption where appropriate, and we choose service providers with recognised security practices.

8.2 No system is completely secure. If a privacy breach is likely to cause serious harm, we will notify the people affected and the relevant regulator, as the law requires.

9. How Long We Keep It

9.1 We keep personal information for as long as we need it for the purposes in this policy, including to maintain customer and business relationships and to meet legal, tax and record-keeping obligations. When it is no longer needed, we delete it or de-identify it.

9.2 You can ask us to delete your information at any time (clause 10). We will do so unless we need to keep it to meet a legal obligation or to complete an order.

10. Your Rights

10.1 Wherever you are, you can ask us:

(a) whether we hold personal information about you, and for a copy of it;

(b) to correct information that is wrong or out of date;

(d) how we obtained your information; and

(e) to stop sending you marketing emails.

10.2 Contact our privacy officer (clause 13). We may need to confirm your identity before acting on a request. There is no charge for asking for your information. We will respond within the time the law requires, which in New Zealand is 20 working days.

10.3 New Zealand. You have rights of access and correction under the Privacy Act 2020.

10.4 Australia. You have rights of access and correction under the Australian Privacy Principles. Where practicable, you may deal with us without identifying yourself or by using a pseudonym, for example when making a general enquiry.

10.5 United States. Some US states give residents additional privacy rights. Where those laws apply to us, we will handle your request as they require.

11. Children

11.1 The website is intended for businesses and is not directed at children under 16. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

12. Changes to This Policy

12.1 We may update this policy from time to time. The current version, with its effective date, is always on this page. If we make a significant change, we will note it at the top of the page.
