FAQs

General FAQs

Kormax has an experienced team with skills in all aspects of design, manufacturing, and materials knowledge. We can provide CAD design, FAE Analysis, and a number of other engineering services to help design the casting, optimise the manufacturing method, and ensure that the casting will be fit for its application.

Kormax uses NDAs in all projects to protect confidentiality of any discussions involving intellectual property. We understand how the patent process, the copy right processes, and bridged design protections work globally, and we work in conjunction with customers to ensure that their IP is protected and leveraged.

Kormax has sales staff based in the United States, Australia, and New Zealand and will always provide responses within one workday.

Supply Chain FAQs

De-risking your supply chain has never been more relevant than now. Diversification can help protect against rising costs, unavailability of raw materials, disruption of the supply chain, currency fluctuations, rising fuel costs, geopolitical factors, and many other unknowns.

By partnering with Kormax, you only have one point of contact but access to Kormax’s diverse manufacturing and distribution networks – saving you time and money whilst reducing your risk. We know foundries, we know metals, we know multiple manufacturing methods, and we know global distribution, leaving you free to concentrate on what you know best – growing your business.

To derisk supply chains, Kormax has manufacturing facilities in Turkey, India, South Korea, New Zealand, and Europe, ensuring geopolitical diversity. Furthermore, we have warehousing facilities in United States, Australia, and New Zealand for holding inventory and safety stock near our customer markets.

With COVID shutdowns and extreme weather events on the rise, halted or reduced production has become a reality. Kormax ensures multiple foundries are under contract for high- volume items, each with additional contingency capacity to ensure the loss or reduction of production of a single supplier will not dramatically affect deliveries.

Kormax carries inventory in United States, Australia, and New Zealand as safety stock for our customers. In addition to this, we manage global supply chains across three continents using leading freight brokers as well as direct booking with shipping lines to ensure we achieve the fastest practicable lead times for all customers.

Kormax engages with multiple trusted freight forwarders, with options from and to multiple destination ports, and in turn with multiple shipping lines to ensure scheduling is not affected by isolated impacts to particular shipping companies.

Kormax has several qualified foundries in over six countries, but predominantly casts product in India, Turkey, and South Korea whom all have well established trading partnerships with USA and Australia and are part of QUAD & NATO respectively. Kormax is thus in a position to switch production between countries in the event of negative government intervention.

Kormax, in partnership with our legal advisors and 3rd party QC firms conduct both historical and ongoing checks and random site inspections throughout the production process to identify any breach of international law.

Quality FAQs

  • Kormax is very familiar with a number of quality control processes, including:
    • Mechanical testing such as hardness testing, impact testing, and tensile testing;
    • Chemical testing which includes microstructure analysis, spectrometer testing;
    • Non-destructive testing which includes magnetic particle testing, dye penetrant inspection, and ultrasonic testing.
  • Kormax also employs third party independent laboratories to get other tests done and have all tests certified.
  • Kormax is ISO 9001 compliant, ensuring all our quality management systems are world-class.
  • Kormax performs a PFMEA matrix before production to identify quality risks. A comprehensive Final Inspection Checklist is set up to control quality risks and the final Inspection Check is peer reviewed by a Kormax Quality Manager or 3rd Party inspector.
  • If problems do occur during production, Kormax runs a non-compliance report system whereby any non-compliances are identified, corrected, and procedures are updated to mitigate recurrences.
