PETP

Overview

PETP [technical name Polyethylene terephthalate] is naturally white in colour [black is available by enquiry]. Kormax PETP has excellent stability coupled with excellent wear resistance, low friction coefficient, high strength, and resistance to moderate acid solutions, making it ideal for precision parts. Kormax PETP has a maximum continuous service temperature of 100ºC and its FDA compliance allows it to be used in direct contact with foodstuffs. Impact resistance of Kormax PETP is limited due to its high strength and rigidity, but low moisture absorption gives good stability in wet environments.

PEEK

Kormax PEEK [technical name Poly Ether Ether Ketone] is a high-performance thermoplastic. Kormax PEEK has excellent chemical resistance and at high temperatures, retains most of its physical properties. Kormax PEEK natural has FDA approval for direct contact with food and has low flammability [V0] rating. Kormax PEEK natural is a beige colour and is hard compared to other plastic materials. Care needs to be taken over the material running in contact with Kormax PEEK and ideally should be a hardened steel material to avoid wear on the mating surface. Kormax PEEK is available by request in other grades, such as glass-filled, carbon-filled and bearing grade.
